Babies : Clothes
When you walk into a department store or baby store it is easy to get carried away in the clothes section looking at all the cute little outfits you could dress bub in. Before you do head off shopping a read through our 5 baby clothes saving money tips is a must:
- Don’t buy a lot of little clothes for your baby initially. They grow so quickly and you will be surprised at the amount of clothes you receive as presents from family and friends. Buy a few essentials such as jump suits and singlets.
- Consider purchasing clothes that are easy to dress the baby in and save you time and money in the short term. Clothes with studs down the inside legs and front are easier than pull-ons, tops with wide necks are also easier especially for newborns who generally don’t like things going over their heads.
- Consider the time of year your baby will be born and the clothing needs at that time. The beautiful pink jacket may look gorgeous in the shop window, but will be a little hot for your daughter if she is due in summer.
- Buy clothes in packs. Generally you can buy all-in-ones, bibs and suits etc in packs of 2 or more and this is cheaper than buying them separately.
- In summer, you may find all your bub needs to wear around the house is a nice singlet and a nappy. This can save you money on clothes.
