• Plan your trip, before you head off for on your holiday. Look at where you want to go and what you might want to do whilst you are there. This will save you wasting your holiday time in tourist information centers trying to figure out what you want to do.
  
• When you have worked out what you want to see and do on your holiday, search the internet for where you might be able to obtain the best price. Do this before you leave home. Often you can buy entry tickets, transport fares, accommodation, vehicles etc in advance for good prices using the internet.
  
• Plan ahead for your trip and know exactly what you want to do and roughly how much it is going to cost you. Start to plan early how you are going to afford your trip so you have the opportunity to save cash.
  
• Work out what you need each day for accommodation, food, attractions, activities, fuel, transport, souvenirs etc. This will help you to reach a closer estimate of your total holiday cost.
  
• Never travel without the appropriate insurance cover. Even if you are only going on a domestic trip this is highly recommended. You need to weigh up how much it is going to cost you if you don't have this protection in place.
