Petrol
- As with all shopping, shop around. You can find significant differences from one petrol station to the next.
- Use your fuel vouchers to save per litre, but make sure you aren't overpaying. Is there a petrol station that doesn't take a voucher that is selling fuel for less?
- Don't let the chippies and chocolates jump out at you saying 'eat me' 'eat me'. Ignore them. This is where your money can leak; buying items that you don't need. Get a healthy snack from somewhere else such as home. It will be much healthier and better for the waistline.
- Get out of the habit of running around in your vehicle doing a lot of short trips. Plan your outings and do all of your little jobs / errands in one trip.
- Travel lightly. Every extra kilogram that you carry in your vehicle requires more energy. Have a look in the boot and the back seat. Are there items there that you don't need to be carrying around? Can you leave some things at home? Make sure you leave the spare tyre and tools in the car though.
