Entertainment
- Getting a group of friends to attend an event with you can often save you money as the ticket issuers usually offer group discount tickets. Why not try organising a staff outing or activity with your friends to build up the numbers. Everyone loves a bargain and being part of the group will allow this.
- Don't forget that often the best times that people remember are the days when quality time was spent with family members / friends. Going for a picnic by a river, taking a walk along the foreshore of the bay, riding bikes in a park isn't going to cost you much but will be cherished and remembered. You don't always have to spend loads of money on activities to have fun.
- Plan your activities over the next 6 - 12 months, so that you can control the number of expensive activities. Factor them into your budget so that you can save for them. Instead of doing something every month, you might plan to do it every quarter / half year. This way you aren't cutting it out completely. Making a bit of a sacrifice can help you to get ahead and achieve other goals that are important to you.
- Subscribe to newsletters and register on databases of your chosen area of entertainment, so that you can be posted / emailed promotional materials on upcoming events and special discount offerings.
- Lots of City Councils promote free activities such as outdoor cinemas, musical productions, bands, parades, fairs, attractions. Visit your local Council website to see what is coming up in your area.
